My new book is coming July 24th
Walk the chapters with me, one Pink Floyd song at a time.
Hey folks —
I’ve been writing here for about a year and I am changing the way I use Substack. Everything I’ve built here now lives in The Rebel’s Playground. All future work will also exist there, but I will be sharing releases of new work here and invitations to join me there.
Over the last year, I’ve been quietly building the Rebel’s Playground. Somewhere along the way, I noticed that what I was writing here was finding its way into something larger. The posts were becoming series. The series were becoming the Playground Library. The Playground itself was becoming the home of the work.
Part of the Playground is the Playground Library, where you’ll find all my past series and books in audio form. This includes an audio version of my first book, Rewilding Your Soul. If you’ve enjoyed my writing here, I think that book may resonate. It is also a primer for the book I have coming out on July 24th — Reimagining Rebellion: A Rebel’s Guide to Coming Alive in a System That’s Crushing You.
This is a book about the move from adaptation to aliveness. A call, not a cure. An invitation to explore what that may look like for you, and what it may bring into the world. You can catch a glimpse of what that looks like in The Playground Library series The Daily Rebel Rhythm.
The book is scored by Pink Floyd. Each chapter has a companion EchoPlay — a flipbook built around a Pink Floyd song that embodies the chapter’s work. The first of these is Time. I released it here a couple weeks ago, and it now also lives in The Rebel’s Playground as a flipbook. I’ll be releasing new EchoPlays and revealing the book chapter by chapter over the next 13 weeks.
In recognition of the subscribers who have supported my work over the past year, all of these EchoPlays will be available for free if you join the Rebel’s Playground. Once you’re in, you’ll also have access to the full Playground Library, the Self-Compassion Lab — a space for the slow, somatic work that softens the ground everything else needs to grow in — and the first Adventure of the program the Playground was built around, Heroic Kids. For the kids in your life.
Thank you,
Gary
