A Rebel's Guide to Burnout
And Welcome to The Rebel's Playground
Hey Folks, you may know me or recognize my voice from the Rewilding Your Soul Podcast where I hosted several series you can still access here.
Starting Monday, February 9th, I’m opening a new chapter of this work, and with it a new home for everything that’s been trying to come together over the last few years.
This Substack is now The Rebel’s Playground.
Not a brand shift.
A clarity shift.
The Rebel’s Playground is for people who feel the pressure of the modern world and are looking for a different way to engage it — not by pushing harder or opting out, but by staying present without losing themselves.
And the first place we’re starting is burnout.
1st 4 Weeks: A Rebel’s Guide to Burnout
Most people I meet aren’t hopeless because they don’t care.
They’re exhausted.
Burnout isn’t a personal failure.
It’s not a motivation problem.
And it’s not something you fix by trying harder.
Burnout is what happens when clarity, agency, and capacity are all taxed at once — when the nervous system has been running too hot for too long.
That’s why this first week isn’t about solutions or productivity hacks.
It’s about seeing clearly, slowing the pace, and naming what burnout is actually asking for.
What This Will Look Like
During the week (Monday–Friday), I’ll be sharing short daily reflections — brief video notes you can take in quickly, without falling behind.
On Sunday evenings, I’ll share a longer integration that weaves the week together and offers a steadier place to land.
If you miss a day, nothing breaks.
If you miss the whole week, you’ll still be able to catch the thread.
This isn’t content to keep up with.
It’s a place to come back to.
Introducing The Hope Project
This week also marks the beginning of an ongoing inquiry I’m calling The Hope Project.
Not hope as optimism.
Not hope as denial.
But hope as a capacity but something that emerges when we can see clearly, regulate our nervous systems, and take aligned, human-scale action.
We’ll start with burnout because that’s where hope usually disappears first, not because it’s gone, but because the system can’t access it.
A Final Note
Some of what I share here will be polished.
Some will be field notes.
Some ideas may change as I learn more.
That’s intentional.
If you’re tired of urgency, outrage, and being told how to feel —
If you want a way to stay engaged without burning out —
If you’re curious what rebellion might look like at a human pace —
Welcome.
This is the Rebel’s Playground.
This is Rebellion Reimagined.
Week 1 begins Monday, February 9th.
